Roald Dahl happens to be one of my favourite writer, as I have cherished most of his children fiction as well as adult stories. The funny thing is that I started reading his children stories only after I grew up. And I enjoyed each one of his stories. This just shows that there is still a kid in me. 🙂
Actually, I had seen the movie Matilda long before reading the story. I felt it was a good adaptation from Roald Dahl’s story. Though I would like to review the movie separately.
The story of a wonderful little girl named Matilda was truly amazing! The sad thing is parents didn’t realize her immense talent. Luckily, her class teacher saw her gift and encouraged her.
Then the best fantasy story which is like the Alice in the wonderland, etc, is the BFG.
I just loved the wonderful writing of Roald Dahl which brought out the magic of the BFG, which stands for Big Friendly Giant and the little girl. I was lost in their world while reading the story. I just loved this story.
Then the story that comes to my mind is Fantastic Mr. Fox. That was another wonderful story I liked very much.
The clever, but not cunning Mr.Fox not only helps his family, but his friends and their families fight against three men, who are hell bent in destroying their lives.
Then I just lost in the story “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar”. This story had literally taken me to the wonderful life of Henry Sugar. I had to re-read the story to cherish its wonderfulness.
The next story I loved most is Danny, the champion of the world.
Once again, I was taken to the world of Danny. The wonderful relationship between Danny and his loving and caring father.
The last but not the least is Esios Trot
A cute little love story with a tortoise in the back drop was simply amazing.
There are many other wonderful stories like James and the Giant Peach, Jack and the Beanstalk, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, George’s Marvellous Medicine, The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me. And the list goes on and on. Each one of the story written by Roald Dahl is refreshingly beautiful. They literally transform the reader to the magical world of fantasy stories. Stories that have wonderful heart and soul.
Roald Dahl is no doubt one of the best story tellers who has become immortal with his wonderful stories and writings.
